Report your experience of getting care or treatment during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

Have you got something to say about access to care and support or to treatment during COVID-19?

We are the Be Human movement, which is hosted by Disability Rights UK and In Control.

We have set up this initiative because we believe it is important to maintain a public record of how disabled people and those who require care and support experience accessing care and treatment during the Coronavirus pandemic.  It will be used to increase transparency and to influence the future policy and practice of government, the NHS and local councils.  By contributing your experiences you will help to protect people’s lives and their future wellbeing.

Note: By disabled people we mean anyone facing disabling societal barriers due to their impairments or conditions and this includes mental health, hearing or visual impairments, learning disability, neurodiverse people, and those with chronic illness or fatigue. (thank you to The Greater Manchester Disabled People's Panel convened by the GM Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP) for this definition).

If you are willing to share your experience, whether negative, positive or mixed, please take part by answering a few questions for us. You can ask someone you trust to help you complete the questionnaire.

Why we are asking

This is our way to find out what issues people and/or those with care and support needs are facing during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and how people’s right to care, support and treatment is being affected. This information will be collated and shared publicly, as well as with national and local government and the NHS. We will raise issues and best practice with the NHS, local authority and central government managers. If you need further information and advice, links are available after you have submitted your response.

How we will use your responses and store them

People who read your answers will not know who wrote them. You don’t have to share your personal details, you can remain anonymous, but if you would like us to respond to any of the issues you raise there is an option to contact us at the end of the questions.

Your responses will never be shared with a third party and will be stored securely using a platform called LimeSurvey, we will keep your responses for a period of two years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data.

You will be able to save your response to these questions and keep it as a record of your experience for yourself.

How will the information be used

We will use what you tell us to set up a register (a record) of the different issues people face. We will check that people’s rights to care and support are being met. If people report problems with getting care and support we will discuss the issues with the people responsible (in the NHS, in Local Authorities, CQC, OFSTED and in Central Government).
